Marina Grille: 12,000 Square Feet Of 'Wow!' At The Belmar Marina

If you love to watch sunsets while savoring fresh seafood, you'll appreciate the kaleidoscope of colors at the Marina Grille waterfront restaurant on the Belmar Marina. The spectacular $6 million restaurant, which opened in May 2017, is one of the best places in Belmar to enjoy the blazing sunset sky over the Shark River in Monmouth County, New Jersey.
This place is massive: 12,000 square feet, with lots of umbrella tables and cozy lounging areas on a sprawling deck that overlooks the water. Inside, you'll find booth and table seating in the dining room, as well as bar seating in the dining room. The large indoor bar at Marina Grille Belmar is surrounded by big-screen TVs and giant glass garage doors that slide open and bathe the space in fresh air and sunshine.
Marina Grille is operated year-round by Chef's International, Inc., a restaurant corporation based in Point Pleasant Beach, New Jersey. Chef's International also operates the nearby 9th Ave. Pier patio bar at the Belmar Marina, another waterfront restaurant with spectacular sunset views, as well as the Belmar miniature golf park nearby.
In 2016, Chef's International also opened the Anchor Tavern in Belmar (formerly the Connolly Station), located at 709 Main Street. The Anchor Tavern is a popular gathering spot with outdoor seating in the heart of downtown Belmar.
Marina Grille serves lunch, dinner, a happy hour menu, and specialty drinks. The casual tavern-style menu includes appetizers, entrees, chowders and bisques, burgers, small plates, salads, a raw bar, and gourmet pizzas. The shrimp and grits and citrus calamari are personal favorites.
Happy hour is served weekdays from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m., Saturdays from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m., and all day Sunday. During peak summer season and on nice weekends, Marina Grille gets packed. Get there early to avoid the long waits for an outdoor table.
