About The Belmar Public Library
According to its mission statement: "The Belmar Public Library will work with the community to provide materials, information, technology and opportunities to educate, enrich and entertain people of all ages and backgrounds. The Library is dedicated to providing friendly, outstanding, personal customer service and equal access to resources for all patrons, from preschool through senior adults. We are committed to enhancing the quality of life in our community by meeting the evolving educational, informational, cultural and recreational needs of our Library users."
In addition to its Summer Concert Series, the Belmar Public Library holds various events and educational programs for the community throughout the year. For senior adults, offerings include smartphone and mobile technology workshops, free therapeutic exercise and dance programs (called "Healthy Steps"), chair and mat yoga, and social activities such as bridge games. Other offerings at the Belmar Public Library include toddler story time; knitting, crocheting and sewing lessons; meditation, Qigong and Tai Chi classes; and a youth art program.
If you're a Bruce Springsteen fan, stop by the library lawn and pose for a picture with the gigantic replica of The Boss's famous Fender. The eight-foot-tall guitar is a popular landmark in town.
The library in Belmar also provides access to public computers with free wireless Internet service, along with wireless printers and work-study stations. For a small fee, you may also utilize the library's convenient fax and copy services. A Belmar Library card is free for Belmar residents (two proofs of residency are required). Non-residents may join for a $25.00 membership fee.
