The owner of Main Street Donuts, Joe Rizzuto, was inspired to start his business after visiting a made-to-order doughnut shop during a family vacation in North Carolina several years ago.
"The concept was something we thought we could do better, as these shops prepared basic doughnuts. We wanted to take it to the next level and create memorable sweet treats," says Rizzutto, a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America. "If we prepare a great product, our customers will come back for more and more. I love being part of the Belmar community and plan on being here for a long time."

Main Street Donuts also serves locally roasted coffee and coffee drinks, in addition to doughnut ice cream sandwiches, homemade crumb cake, apple fritters, and cinnamon buns. Gluten-free and vegan doughnuts are also available.
Rizzuto has developed a loyal following for his seasonal doughnut creations, such as the boozy piña colada doughnut and the St. Patrick's Day doughnut, which is infused with Parade Day Irish-style Coffee Stout brewed by Beach Haus Brewery in Belmar.
During the holidays, the pull-a-way doughnut cakes shaped like Christmas trees, wreaths, and candy canes are top sellers. You can also order custom "docakes" for all occasions, including birthdays, anniversaries, and other special celebrations.
